Are you LGBTQ or an ally for someone you love?
If I watched every episode of POSE & loved it, could I be GAY?
If I read this BLOG, should I get a RAINBOW T-shirt?
Should I change my pro-noun?
So many questions, what’s a HE, SHE, HIM, HER, THEM, THEY, TO DO…and which one fits me? If YOU read my PRIDE features, you will not become gay but you just might find a film or TV series that will make you laugh, cry or more understanding of that beautiful, popular, unique, creative, talented, fun, life-of-the-party, happy, LOUD and “ALWAYS FABULOUS” person that lives next door…works next to you…drives you…provides medical care…cooks or delivers your food, etc, etc, etc!

OMG…..WE ARE EVERYWHERE…DO YOU SEE US…HEAR US…KNOW US…LOVE US…or is it just our MOVIES, MUSIC or TV SHOWS that you love?
It’s NEVER to late to be PROUD!
FUN FACT: I AM PROUD 365 DAYS A YEAR!
Now that the world is re-opening, I am happy to see that LGBTQ+ Pride festivals and parades are returning just in time for summer. Pride marches and demonstrations began in 1970 to honor the Stonewall Riots that took place in NYC, on June 28, 1969. The first marches were small and attracted about 1,000 people who walked together in solidarity to raise awareness or march for political reasons. Now thousands march (and some “sashay”) proudly down parade routes all over the world as hundreds of thousands of straight and LGBTQ+ revelers line the streets as spectators and allies.
Although June has been deemed as LGBTQ+ PRIDE MONTH, annual festivals and celebrations continue through the summer at different times depending on the city you are in, or near. You may know how we love to find reasons to have more parties and PARADES. One is NEVER enough so we often travel to many festivals to soak-up the sun and the FUN. Pride celebrations usually conclude in November with the Palm Springs and Phoenix festivals. This gives us about 7 months to lose weight, donate this year’s drag ( fab wardrobe) and get our NEW drag (even more fabulous wardrobe) ready for next year’s festivities.
Over the next few months, as I write about some amazing movies, music or TV shows I am going to feature some of my favorite and essential LGBTQ+ films, music and more. Enjoy your summer and the FABULOUS entertainment choices you will read about here.
